Celebrating Spring

Hello everyone! This year we're not organising a public event to drown Marzanna, the Slavic goddess of winter. Instead, we'd like to encourage everyone to give Spring a warm welcome your own way, in your smaller circles of family and friends.
Here is what YOU can do:

* drown Marzanna - a Slavic rite which means a symbolic departure of winter

* make a Gaik - a symbol of the arrival of spring

* burn Maslenitsa - in Slavic mythology, Maslenitsa is a sun-festival, personified by the ancient god Volos, and a celebration of the imminent end of the winter

* invent your own way to celebrate Spring

It would be great if you shared photographs of your spring celebrations with us.
Just email them to cosmopolis10@gmail.com and we will post them on our blog.

We too will post a few pictures from our own little Drowning of Marzanna to share with all.
May the tradition live on!
