Songs in many tongues at Sharmanka
For July’s first Thursday event in the gallery we present an evening full of mellifluous melody from around the world: a unique happening in song amidst Eduard Bersudsky's marvellous mechanical sculptures.
Do get in touch if you happen to be a good singer and can sing in a language we don't yet have among our songs for the evening. Contact: cosmopolis10@gmail.com
We welcome all musicians to join in as we are also having collective playing and singing towards the end of the evening.
Our usual policy of collecting donations at the end of the show will be in operation, but as there are so many performers involved, all donations will go towards light refreshments for everyone.
You can join the event on facebook HERE.

Creative Writing Workshops in Edinburgh
SCoJeC, the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities, presents a day of creative writing based around the themes of WELCOME, MIGRATION and ‘NEW-COMING’!
FREE workshops open to everyone, regardless of previous writing experience and English language competence level.
Led by three Jewish writers, Ellen Galford, Tracey S Rosenberg and J David Simons, who have all written about the migration experience, we will be inspired to play with words and ideas, share and explore stories and poems reflecting our personal experiences of migration and welcome, and take time to reflect on our similarities and differences.
The event is part of Refugee Week Scotland - A festival for everyone – celebrating the contribution of refugees to Scotland. It will include a FREE kosher buffet lunch, and a crèche and activities for children.
For location details, more info and to register your interest please contact Fiona Frank
