Join us to celebrate the Spring Festival and the tradition of Drowning Marzanna, organised by the Community Culture & Art Association CCAA and the Cosmopolis Independent Group.

We will meet on the 21st of March - Saturday, at Auchnacraig Car Park, Cochno Rd, Clydebank G81 5QW at 11.30am.

Wear something colourful and bring your kids, friends, instruments, noisemakers and cameras!
There will be singing, dancing, music, laughter and smiles – and of course, the traditional drowning of Marzanna.
The custom of burning or drowning an effigy of Marzanna to mark the end of winter is a folk tradition that continues in Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This ritual symbolises the farewell to the dark days of winter, the victory over death, and the joyful welcome of spring’s rebirth.
If you would like to get involved in any way, please let us know at cosmopolis10@gmail.com
We are always happy to welcome musicians, photographers, dancers, singers and enthusiastic helpers.
Please check the map for the meeting point.
We look forward to celebrating the arrival of spring with you!
Please note: the event will not take place if there is heavy rain and high winds! Check the weather forecast and event updates the day before here:
